I made a huge mistake!
When my kids asked what was for snack, I proudly announced:
“Spider eggs!”
The reaction?
Immediate horror.
And honestly… fair.
What I meant (and should have clarified sooner) was that we were making Halloween Spider Deviled Eggs — a fun, festive twist on a real-food classic.
Once they saw the finished product?
Total approval.
Why Deviled Eggs Make a Great Healthy Halloween Snack
During Halloween season, it’s easy to default to sweets.
But protein-rich snacks can make a huge difference in keeping moods steady and energy stable — especially when candy is already everywhere.
Deviled eggs are:
✔ High in protein
✔ Rich in healthy fats
✔ Naturally low in sugar
✔ Easy to prepare ahead
✔ Fun to decorate
And when you turn them into little spiders?
They suddenly become spooky-cute instead of “just eggs.”

- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 12 whole black olives, pitted

- Spoon or pipe yolk mixture back into egg whites.
- Sprinkle lightly with paprika.
- Slice one olive in half and place half on top of each egg as the spider “body.”

- Arrange, serve, and enjoy your spooky creation.
Optional Variations
- Add a pinch of turmeric for color and anti-inflammatory benefits.
- Mix in finely chopped fresh herbs.
- Use pasture-raised eggs for higher nutrient density.
